Wrestling Program

 

McKim's wrestling program is well known in the Baltimore city and in the Maryland state and even nationally.  The wrestling team has been near and dear to the heart of Dwight Warren (Executive Director) every since he came to McKim Community Center in the 1950's as a 13 year old looking for a way to protect himself.  As it turned out he excelled in the sport of wrestling, eventually winning two state championships in the Maryland Junior Wrestling League.  As Dwight says, " Wrestling is an activity to help boys become men."
Dwight coached the team himself for about 15 years, followed by Ron Jackson who is now 17th year as a coach.  Four members of the 2005 team won Maryland State Junior Wrestling League championships.

 Wrestling Program

 
McKim had a successful 2006-2007 season and will post a new schedule in the fall. It is not too early to call and express interest in wrestling next season.  This excellent program is open to young people through middle school years.
