Youth Programs
McKim Community Center has served as the “Starting Place” for thousands of children since 1821 as a Free School. Later it became a total community center in 1917. McKim’s formula for success is to provide “Structure, Discipline and Love”. McKim seeks to equip our young people for the task of becoming productive adults. We hope that they will be able to draw upon the lessons learned and life experiences gained through their association with McKim Community Association, Inc.
McKim has a variety of activities and programs. Here’s a snap shop of the daily happenings at McKim Center.
This activity is designed to involve young males ages 8-15 in vigorous competitive athletic. It provides leadership training, physical fitness, fellowship, self discipline and character building. These teams teach youngsters 7-18 the fundamentals and advanced skills of track and field. Participants compete in Citywide leagues operated by Baltimore City’s Department of Recreation and Parks.
